Interim management role within Programma's, Projecten en Onderhoud (PPO). I have supported a maintenance team responsible for 7 motorway tunnels. An extensive set of projects required a shift in focus and therefore a slight change in required capabilities. I have written and partly implemented a plan to work towards a team capable of dealing with the large number projects

Every navy ship needs extensive maintenance and upgrades to keep up with the changing environment. In this role I participated in designing and executating systems updates. Whilst keeping track of budget and planning I consulted the platform users to deliver systems that fulfilled their needs. With the complexity of a navy platform comes the challenge of keeping track of multiple projects to deliver the upkeep programmes.

This has been an interesting role in which I was part of a team developing Marine Systems with civil servants and Royal Navy personnel. After development needs were identified, the department worked together with industry resulting in prototypes of new technology systems. These then came available for project teams designing future naval platforms.

Whilst training engineering officers to prepare them for their jobs on board of the ships, I was also responsible for a team of instructors. We trained both individuals and teams on board of ships and at our shore training facilities.

Initially as a trainee and after 12 months as the Deputy Engineering Officer I was responsible for the availability and maintenance of a variety of marine systems.
