Interdisciplinary postgrad researcher with 4+ years of research- and 1.5 years of industry experience.During my undergraduate studies at the Institute for Neurobiology in Düsseldorf I worked on creating a postnatal developmental profile for white matter glutamate transporter expression in mice and studied ATP dynamics and changes in NADH/NAD+ balance under ischemic conditions in brain slice cultures. I employed a genetically encoded FRET sensor for ATP and established a novel redox sensor, both of which were introduced to the tissue via viral transduction with AAVs. The results of my theses were published in Moshrefi-Ravasdjani et al. in 2018 and Lerchundi et al. in 2018 & 2019. After my graduation, I briefly continued to work in Düsseldorf as a researcher and teaching assistant before picking up a postgraduate position at CECAD in cologne, investigating subcellular energy metabolism and autophagy in progressive axonal degeneration disorders. Part of my work was published in Overhoff et al. 2023.In parallel to my time as an undergrad student I worked as a student research assistant at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne, assisting in various experiments at a 3T Siemens PET-fMRI covering changes in human bone, muscle, brain and optic nerve as a consequence of prolonged simulated microgravity during the AGBRESA studies. I returned there in August 2021 and have been supporting the Institute of Aerospace medicine as a research associate during the SANS, Myocardiogen and Hypofon studies until September 2023. In October, I enrolled at TU Berlin to pursue a second degree in engineering - taking courses in engineering fundamentals and sustainability development, and following up on an inert desire to approach research holistically rather than becoming a specialist.
