Eindhoven Area, Netherlands
In 1998 I was appointed a part-time professor (UHD) in the Electromechanics and Power Electronics group. Apart from doing research in energy conversion, I currently teach Modelling and Control of Power Converters (the course is also available through PAOTM). The focus is on high-precision time-domain digital and software-based control for switched-mode.
R&D position as a scientist at Research Signify. Working on specialized magnetic design software and large scale parallel simulation of board-level switch-mode power converters. Retired per February 1, 2024.
Research and development of low-cost, high-performance switched-mode power converters. Current interests are Design Automation, Large Scale (cloud) computing, IC development, system simulation, modeling, discrete-time control techniques, and (hybrid) switched-capacitor power conversion.
High-Tech Campus, Eindhoven
Industry consultancy, research and development of switched-mode power converters up to 100 kW. Extensive experience with technical liability (legal) disputes. My current fields of interest are system simulation, modeling, and discrete-time control techniques (targeting the range from 8 bit microcontrollers to top-of-the-line DSP + FPGA combinations).
Research and development of low-cost, extremely efficient, low power, switched-mode converters for the lighting industry. These drivers are used to power LEDs, HID stadium, street- and shop lighting, TL and CFL lamps, and new light sources currently in development.
