Research subject: Management of the Complexity in Projects: A Systems Engineering Perspective.Abstract: Engineering has been building techniques to deal with the complexity of the systems it develops. However, the inherent complexity of project execution itself, due to technology, uncertainty, and human values present in the execution of projects, project programs, and engineering project portfolios, is still treated in a deterministic manner. This research project will identify systems engineering processes that enable the management of the inherent complexity of projects.

Study and implementation of the LinkSmart platform for IoT applications. The platform was developed under the coordination of the Fraunhofer-Institut für Angewandte Informationstechnik and funded by the Framework Program of the European Community.

Activities carried out:· Identification and selection of market solutions for user experience monitoring.· Definition of the migration process of client-server solutions to web environment (J2EE).· Implementation of fault-tolerant architecture across all critical systems.· Proof of Concept and subsequent implementation of application lifecycle management (ALM) process;· Concept proofs for public cloud use for non-critical applications.

I led several systems development teams and reverse engineering activities to identify business rules in legacy systems. Also, I managed the integration of the different software systems of the companies acquired by Claro. Some of the teams' leadership were related to: · Value Added Service Platform, a distributed component platform to enable partner integrations services.- Location Services.- BCP/CLARO's prepaid solution management system, responsible for controlling the life cycle of prepaid subscribers.- SMS services interconnection.- Integration of legacy systems, which was developed by companies acquired by CLARO.- Reverse engineering activities to identify business rules in legacy systems.

- I developed drivers for banking and commerce automation peripherals.- I used WOSA-XFS, afterward CEN-XFS (European Standardization Committee - eXtension for Financial Systems).- I developed drivers and control applications for biometrics equipment (digital reader and iris reader).- I realized hardware homologation tests with Microsoft, to include the SiD hardware in the Windows Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).

I worked in the migration of the software systems from Nacional Seguros to UNIBANCO. I performed reverse engineering of migrated applications, aiming to document them and identify action points for a reengineering process. Also, I participated in the change management committee.
