Long before I even thought about studying industrial design, I was already very interested in engineering, in particular how the things around me were made. When I heard of industrial design, it was immediately clear to me; this was to be my profession. I studied industrial design at the Technical University of Delft, still one of the best Universities in this field. MMID is the product development agency I co-founded in 1992. Since then the company grew towards where it is now, developing benchmark products that are extremely user friendly. Products that matter. We believe in integrated product development where specialists from different disciplines work together sharing the same passion: creating those excellent meaningful products. Already operating in the Dutch market for almost 20 years, in 2011 MMID successfully entered the German market and in 2018 the first American office was opened in Providence, Rhode Island. My personal passion within my profession remained the same over all these years: the producibility of a product. A product developer has done a good job when a complex product looks simple to the user. I believe good products are functional and sustainable. This is why MMID develops products which have added value for the user, have a long lifetime and enrich life. Besides product development, personal development is one of my priorities. It is of great importance for people to develop themselves, to become proficient in their passion and profession. At MMID people are given the possibility to develop their talents to the maximum.
