My duties include finding the right quality tools and accessories to supply to our varied clients in the manufacturing sector (automotive/mining and general engineering), arranging shipping and warehousing to meet our demand and price expectations of our clientele. My role in purchasing includes negotiating best prices for our orders as well as delivery times that meet our shipping needs to support our clients nationally.I'm involved in setting pricing to remain competitive in our market and deciding on best delivery methods to keep our clients downtime to the absolute minimum or help them set up new lines at optimal costs. Some clients need additional assistance making the correct choice to best suit their individual needs and for this I have to travel to their plants and factories to ascertain exact needs and scale-ability requirements before making best ROI suggestions to meet their demands. To remain on the cutting edge, I have to travel to trade shows and engage with suppliers face to face to renew sole distribution agreements and renegotiate price contracts.Frequently I am also required to negotiate for the best rates with service suppliers like banks, courier services and other retailers.
