Care & Services Program Hospitality Review of Bethanie’s hospitality services to residents living in the 12 residential aged care homes. The Aged Care Standards provide the benchmark for delivering best services practices in relation to customer needs and desires. The Care and Services Program is a journey to ensure a prioritised list of clinical activities are aligned to the Aged Care Quality Standards commencing with the review and or amending of the policies and procedures. Determining and developing both financial and non-financial reporting and then producing training and education to the residential care staff to embed the new way in which Bethanie delivers its care and services to the customer.Specifically, Hospitality will focus on the customer’s dining experience, specifically the food process from the “kitchen to the plate in front of the customer” with the purpose to review current practices. Set a new standard for quality food delivery to the customer (involving the process of food production, catering to customer’s needs and desires). The outcome is for better food and food experiences, leading to better nutrition; underpins better clinical outcomes; enables Bethanie to meet ACQS; deliver on Bethanie’s Model of Care, and attain provider of choice status.

Subiaco

For the first 12 months, I was the acting Director Corporate Services and later, due to a focused leadership structure change, and due to a significant hospital-wide redevelopment project as Deputy Director Corporate and Hospitality Services. I reported directly to the CEO. I provided leadership and direction to managers within Corporate Services (HR, OHS, Engineering, Catering, Retail, Conferencing, Security, Environmental, and Linen services) ensuring that operational plans and strategic targets were met. As an executive member of the hospital management committee (HMC), I demonstrated inclusive leadership and contributed to executive decision-making and the achievement of strategic objectives of the Hospital. I sustained strong operational performance within hard and soft facility management.

Subiaco

Due to a group-wide strategic and operational change from a divisional to a centralised WA hospitals structure, I was promoted from the Subiaco Catering Manager role, which reported to the Director Corporate Services, to a regional Senior Manager for Catering Services with SJGHC Perth Northern Hospitals (PNH). This incorporated 1100 beds within St John of God Subiaco, Mt Lawley, Midland Public and Private Hospitals and Wembley Day Surgery. I Reported to the Director of Workforce and Corporate Services, Perth Northern Hospitals (PNH).

I was leading the Catering Patient Services operation plus two hospital owned a la carte coffee shops, a staff cafeteria, a doctors’ lounge, and a Conference Centre at SJGSH. Accountable for annual operational budgets of $3.6M, (150 caregivers) over 4 different cost centres. Reporting to the Director Finance & Corporate Services.
