When meeting new and existing client's whatever problem they have I can see their problem from an engineer’s view rather than just a sales view. Being Director of Operations at Q&A Site Services was a highly pressurised role that I thrived on.As Operational Director I was responsible for the overall management and running of the operations department and the many projects we managed. Succeeding in this role meant I had to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, paying attention to the smallest of details, being responsible for all equipment and facilities at the many sites and overseeing all aspects of staff management; as well as reporting to the board of Q&A Site Services on the department’s performance.Some examples I can provide include working with Veolia UK in building new plants from concept to installation and making modifications to existing plants at various Veolia sites across the UK. Through excellent design and due diligence we were able to improve overall performance whilst cutting costs. Whilst working for Biffa we went back to the drawing board to redesign and fabricate Trommells so they could be fitted without the expense and cost of having to remove and refit the roof of the building. We were also able to provide our client with heavy chain conveyors and drive systems (our own design).At Lafarge we were able to build, from the ground up, a small mobile satellite asphalt plant at Edinburgh Airport.
