The Maximizing Opportunities in Coffee and Cacao in the Americas (MOCCA) Project is a five-year, $36.4 million initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Implemented with principal partner Lutheran World Relief, MOCCA will build the key agricultural sectors of coffee and cocoa in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Peru, directly improving the livelihoods of over 100,000 farmers.

Thriive inspires a culture of philanthropy in local communities and offers a sustainable way out of poverty by helping to create new jobs. As we help small businesses grow with needed capital, they pay forward this assistance by donating products, services, and job training to the most vulnerable in their communities.--------------------------------------------------------Responsibilities included: ▪ Establish and develop key partnerships. ▪ Create and execute Thriive Nicaragua's business development methodology for small businesses.▪ Establish partnerships with national and international universities to offer consultancy services to Thriive businesses. ▪ Coordinate Thriive Nicaragua's business recruitment process. Over 140 applications received in 2017. 21 businesses selected. ▪ Coordinate the development of comprehensive, quantitative and qualitative quarterly reports for Thriive donors. ▪ Coordinate a team of 3 people in charge of monitoring the progress of a portfolio of over 60 active Thriive businesses. ▪ Support the equipment procurement process. ▪ Support the development of the Thriive Impact Investment Fund pilot initiative. $33k invested in one company.

Responsibilities included: ▪ Prepare comprehensive, quantitative and qualitative quarterly reports for Thriive donors. ▪ Coordinate Thriive business selection process. ▪ Monitor progress of a portfolio of over 50 active Thriive businesses. ▪ Manage a team of 2 people who support business monitoring. ▪ Develop tools to improve monitoring and evaluation.

Responsibilities included: ▪Prepare quantitative and qualitative quarterly reports for Thriive donors. ▪ Support Thriive business selection process. ▪ Support the monitoring process of a portfolio of over 40 active Thriive businesses. ▪ Coordinate and execute field visits to Thriive businesses. ▪ Coordinate field visits for Thriive US team and program donors. ▪ Support administrative tasks.

Responsibilities and achievements included:▪ Co-led negotiations with AIESEC Mexico and AIESEC Brazil to endorse and finance AIESEC expansion to Nicaragua. ▪ Prepared feasibility study on country initiative. ▪ Co-developed an educational project for international volunteers to execute at a local NGO. ▪ Established relationships with universities and NGOs; secured office for AIESEC Nicaragua sponsored by Universidad Americana (UAM). ▪ Recruited and led an Executive Board of 6 and a local committee of 30 members. ▪ Represented AIESEC Nicaragua in local and international conferences. ▪ Lead annual and quarterly strategic planning processes for AIESEC Managua. ▪ Local chapter Awarded 2013 Global Entrepreneurship Award at International Leadership Congress in Egypt

Responsibilities included: ▪ Prepare 2012 Political Context Report OAS Electoral Observation Mission for Nicaraguan Municipal Elections. ▪ Provide assistance to Electoral Observation Mission during electoral process.
