I have a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Niagara College (2008) that helped me start my job experience within the Seniors Community Program as a recreationist for the Niagara Region in Adult Day Services and later advance into a coordinator role in the Healthy Safe and Strong program. I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Recreational Studies from Brock University (2018) to increase my knowledge of best practice policies for seniors within the community and ensure that the programs provided for seniors throughout the region were correctly advertised through public information and websites. I have excellent working knowledge of social/virtual platforms. I have done several presentations on the older adult population on improving the quality of life within the Niagara Region. I have a business administration certificate from York University (2019). This education helped me advance my knowledge of analytics concerning budgeting, monthly finance reporting and quality improvement plans. I am a problem-solver; I have been able to defuse any previous complaints brought to management's attention by family members or the community. I have experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures. I have a solid working knowledge of computer software applications (Word/Excel/Publisher/PowerPoint). I have presented many presentations to staff and colleagues on older adult wellness research and my findings on research in developing a more outstanding quality of life for older adults within the community. As I always strive for my best, I have just graduated from Brock University (2024) with a four-year Honours degree in Therapeutic Recreation, ensuring I am educated on the best practices within the field.
