CurrentThe UN German Global Compact Network (UN GCD) was launched in 2000, as one of the the first local chapters of the UN Global Compact. It includes more than 1200 business signatories as well as 60 representatives from civil society, academia and the public sector. UN GCD supports local companies in adhering to the Ten Principles (on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption) and promotes business action to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).Responsibilities include, among others:- Managing the Office/Staff of UN GCD,- Liaising with the UN GCD Board and Foundation- Liaising with the UN Global Compact and Local Networks around the world- Developing the organization's strategy and implementing its business plan- Fundraising and recruiting new members (i.e. subscribers) - Networking with relevant national partners from business, government and civil society- Providing practical support to companies (tools, workshops, coaching)- Facilitating peer learning and exchange of best practice- Organizing multi-stakeholder dialogues- Implementing collaborative initiatives and pilot projects. - Providing advice to the German Ministry of Development Cooperation
