During my tenure, the company's market cap surged from $500 million to over $4 billion in just three years. I managed recruitment, onboarding, training, and direction for 20 direct reports globally, playing a crucial role in maximizing financial success across subsidiaries in the US, Australia, Sweden, and Austria. Notable contributions include spearheading a >$200M equity raise as Acting CFO, redesigning functions for optimal performance, restructuring the global accounting team for increased productivity and SOX 404b compliance, and implementing effective financial closing and filing processes. Additionally, I directed the phased rollout of a new global accounting system using NetSuite for five subsidiaries.

Joining Santen USA in 2013 as Controller, I stabilized the Accounting team and ensured financial readiness for a major product launch. Progressing swiftly, I became Senior Director of Finance & Accounting in 2014 and served as Chief Financial Officer from 2016 to 2018. Accomplishments include assembling and developing two global Finance/Accounting teams, redesigning the Global R&D Finance function to cut expenses by $25M, collaborating on the $50M Santen Venture Fund, implementing IBM TM1, launching a Procurement Department, and achieving perfect audit results through dynamic internal controls.

I contributed to the establishment of a new SAP plant, strategically aligned with the launch of a high-potential respiratory drug poised for substantial growth. This initiative represented a significant step in laying the foundation for a major endeavor. In addition to the infrastructure development, there was a nuanced shift in our financial strategy. We transitioned from a clinical orientation to a comprehensive focus on commercial manufacturing. To ensure prudent financial decisions, we introduced a Capital Investment Committee. This committee played a pivotal role as a guiding force, overseeing and advising on sitewide manufacturing investments, demonstrating a commitment to meticulous financial planning and decision-making.

Earlier in my career, between 2008 and 2011, I held dual roles, initially serving as the Manager in Commercial Business Planning & Financial Analysis and later advancing to the position of Associate Director in Business Planning & Analysis. I played a key role in providing critical financial insights for tenders, supporting growth in LATAM and the United States.
