My role has been primarily the following: • Advocacy for the homeless through public policy, • Serving food, donating clothes, and lending a helping hand to the unsheltered communities in SJ • Working with affordable housing networks to make life more livable for the long time SJ citizens• Meeting with individuals to develop life skills including: housing information, connection to case managers and lawyers, etc.• Transporting individuals to different shelters and camps when their communities are swept by SJPD • Writing grant proposals and letters to ask donors for funding, such as the Mercy Mobile, which helped relocate displaced homeless individuals after sweeps and distribute food and blankets to those on the streets.
