I am a Certified IFS Therapist that specializes in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, body issues, anxiety & trauma online throughout California. As an Approved IFS Clinical Consultant and Certified Eating Disorder Supervisor, I also provide consultation to therapists working towards their IFS Certification or iaedp CEDS. I have a strong desire to build community for therapists who are on the front lines serving others, and have founded two online therapy group practices, Kindful Body and the IFS Telehealth Collective. About Kindful BodyKindful Body is a team of experienced eating disorder clinicians dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care. We provide online eating disorder therapy and nutrition counseling throughout California. Our mission at Kindful Body is to help clients heal the parts of themselves that keep them stuck in their disordered eating behaviors, so they can live life with more Self trust, inner harmony and authenticity. To fulfill our mission, we believe it is essential to address behavioral change as well as underlying issues. Overcoming these struggles can provide opportunities for growth and to discover new strengths. Learning to be more self-compassionate is key for recovery, as well as for mental health and well-being. Helping improve the quality of our clients’ relationships with themselves and others ultimately improves the quality of their lives. Our non-pathologizing, integrative approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindful Self-Compassion, Brené Brown’s Shame Resilience Theory, Intuitive Eating, Body Trust® and Health At Every Size®. For more information visit us at www.kindfulbody.com.About IFS Telehealth CollectiveThe way people want and expect to receive quality mental health care is changing. We formed the IFS Telehealth Collective to address this need through a network of licensed clinicians who are experienced at delivering authentic, compassionate, trauma-informed IFS therapy online. Certified Mindful Self-Compassion TeacherEl Camino Hospital Sep 2014 - Dec 2016Mountain View, CaMindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an 8-week, training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care and understanding.Self-compassion can be learned by anyone, even those who didn't receive enough affection in childhood or who feel uncomfortable when they are good to themselves. It's a courageous attitude that stands up to harm, including the harm that we unwittingly inflict on ourselves through self-criticism, self-isolation, or self-absorption. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves.Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, less anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships. And it’s easier than you think. After participating in this workshop, you’ll be able to:• Practice self-compassion in daily life• Understand the empirically-supported benefits of self-compassion• Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism• Handle difficult emotions with greater ease• Transform challenging relationships, old and new• Manage caregiver fatigue• Practice the art of savoring and self-appreciationThis workshop is being offered in the Winter, Spring and Fall at El Camino Hospital. Yoga InstructorBay Club Redwood Shores Oct 2013 - Jan 2016200 Redwood Shores Pkwy, Redwood City, Ca 94065Teach weekly Yin Yoga class. Yin yoga is a quiet, slow-paced, meditative practice, in which gentle floor poses are held for three to five minutes with the muscles relaxed.I was first introduced to yoga more than ten years ago by a close friend while training for a triathlon, and I fell in love with the strength, tranquility and overall sense of well-being that yoga brought to my life. My yoga and mindfulness meditation practices have helped me develop compassion towards myself and awaken strength and flexibility that I apply to my life both on and off the mat. I received my teaching certification through Avalon Yoga Teacher Training in Palo Alto, and I am a Register Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.
