I am a paleobiologist, professor at GEMA Centre, Universidad Mayor. I’m an advisor on Antarctic, environmental, and scientific issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile. With over 20 years of experience in paleontology and evolution of Antarctic and Patagonian floras, I have developed a deep knowledge and passion for the history and diversity of life in these regions. I have also contributed to the advancement and communication of Antarctic science at the national and international level, as a researcher, former director of the Chilean Antarctic Institute (INACH), vice-president of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), and lecturer of undergraduate and graduate courses. I have led and participated in multiple research and cooperation projects, published several papers and books, and presented my work in various conferences and symposia. I am committed to promoting the scientific and diplomatic cooperation of Chile in Antarctica, as well as the education and awareness of the public about the importance and challenges of this continent.
