Marcene Marcus, LCSW, incorporated her private psychotherapy practice with the mission of helping individuals, couples and families conceive of victory over their life challenges and then attain it while supported therapeutically on their path. Recently, Marcene and colleague Stephen Pratt, MFT created a new process involving a Network of Psychotherapy Professionals at Lakeside Plaza Executive Suites who meet monthly for clinical consultation to insure good practice and ethical services for their clients. C.V. Inc's client services include: psychoeducational group therapy, individual therapy, couples' therapy, and family therapy. Services for mental health professionals include: clinical supervision of MFT or LCSW hours toward licensure and clinical consultation as needed. Non-profit agency services offered are: program development, case management team, strategies and process development, staff development workshops and other workshop topics as requested.

At IUSD's School Readiness Program, Marcene facilitated parenting classes for parents with children (aged birth through 5), created a library of resources for parents involved in the Early Childhood Learning Center including a menu of workshops-to-go to be provided by School Readiness program staff, created a Student Study Team process to be used to help the at risk children of 4 (School Readiness, Montesorri, Head Start, and Early Start) programs at the ECLC to get timely appropriate help and resources, and managed the case managment meetings and information (needs and interventions) for all participants involved in the Irvine School Readiness Program.

Marcene provided resources to families applying for transitional housing and supportive housing services at Families Forward. She also performed needs assessments and developed mutually agreed upon goals with families who found themselves without housing or in danger of losing their housing. Therapuetic interventions involved developing their life skills, grieving their past losses, building self esteem and self efficacy and rebuilding toward self sufficiency.

While at the Orange County Health Care Agency, Marcene provided medication management and family and individual counseling to adults diagnosed with chronic mental illness. She learned about county resources and processes and also engaged in 5150 evaluations in the field for the general public as needed.

Marcene worked with boys labelled "severely emotionally disturbed" who were residing at a level 12 locked down residential treatment facility. She provided individual and group therapy to these children who had experienced a variety of forms of abuse while in their families of origin and or the foster care system. She trained front line staff on appropriate techniques for growth and effective behavior management.
