Maintained flow of communication across multiple internal departments and with other Class 1 railroads. · Transformation: Spearheaded several initiatives to resolve performance gaps inherited from the incumbent Director, to restore the integrity of asset utilization, strengthen team engagement and reduce unwarranted cost. · Hallmark of Success: Achieved a significant reduction in outstanding horsepower-hours (time allotted for use of the rail service) indebted to other railways. Earned a President’s Award nomination for collective success in reducing HPH from a deficit of 600M owed to other Class 1 competitors to realizing a 700M surplus over the span of a year.

Directed teams, priorities and operations as the clearinghouse governing traffic control for all regions and divisions of CN Rail. · Organizational Alignment: Oversaw the integration of all traffic, shifting the network from regional focus to a system-wide consensus. Managed CN’s locomotive assets in a region spanning Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and the west coast of Canada (Vancouver/Prince Rupert). Demonstrated a strong skill set including leadership, communication, asset management and analysis. · Asset Management: Partnered with multiple business functions and traffic control centres as a decision maker on efficient use of locomotive assets, managing cost associated with train load and train starts. Fulfilled a high-level analytical role overseeing a team responsible for identifying waste and measuring asset utilization for the entire railway. Leveraged the results of the team’s quality assessment to drive efficiencies and refine processes. · Leadership: Upheld team-level performance in evaluating cost / asset data, while driving progress behind change to railway operations. Balanced this commitment with Project Manager responsibilities over the development of a rail traffic control tool.

Directed a team of Service Design Managers to conduct comprehensive train planning for CN Rail’s Western Canada region. Collectively defined present and future service for the most valuable region for the rail system. · Strategic Planning: Developed and formulated cohesive and revenue-oriented service plans which accommodated engineering work programs, maintenance windows, and other key factors influencing the rail system’s performance in the region. · Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintained regular communication and collaboration with internal functions including Operations, Marketing, Mechanical and Engineering along with other passenger and freight railroads. · Consensus Building & Negotiation: Asserted business skills to present and substantiate the value of service design to senior-level stakeholders.
