I am passionate about travel and about helping others connect with a depth of mental and spiritual health in accessible formats for people of varying spiritual or religious stances. I grew up the daughter of an airline pilot. What that means is that I had the best of both worlds–being raised on a farm in a small midwest town and also getting to travel the world from an early age (which means I can relate well with just about anyone). Then came my professional arts career in musical theater and dance that offered international touring. After that I had stints of working for significant chunks of time in England, France, and Italy. All this instilled in me an appreciation for this amazing global village of which we are a part. I got a PhD in Ritual Studies, an interdisciplinary field that incorporates anthropology, sociology, neuroscience, among other fields. It sparked a career in consulting and speaking about deeply meaningful human experience and why we resonate with particular kinds of encounters–religious or not. Travel helps expand our worldview and right-size our perception of our role in it and our responsibility to the whole. Spiritual practices come in many forms. Whether it is in your own home town or far away, activities done with intentionality will create "M-M-Good" (meaningful and memorable) moments that sustain our lives. I love bringing these concepts alive in vibrant and engaging presentations and materials that are "ahhs and ahas" for a wide variety of people, religious or non-religious. As a researcher and lover of cultures, my jam is all about highlighting the profound contributions of individuals and cultures around the world. As a professor and consultant, I also love training others for leading these experiences.
