Working at the intersection of social messaging and workplace learning, I focused on the trends, markets and dynamics shaping a distributed and collaborative business culture. Conducted industry analysis over the emerging enterprise microsharing industry, wrote about its growing role in the social tools marketplace, and published a vendor selection report.

• Leading a cross-generational analyst firm and consultancy, I modernized corporate communications to equip and inspire global, virtual and connected employees. I designed staff- and client-facing workshops, mobile.
• Created organizational audits used by 1000+ businesses including FedEx, Nokia, VerizonWireless, the Gap, Home Depot, Boeing, Wachovia Securities, JPMorgan, and Intel.

The Chaordic Commons sought to create a framework for the ideas developed by VISA founder Dee Hock that could be implemented by for- and non-profit organizations, government and communities. Launched, managed, wrote for and edited Learning in the New Economy magazine with a readership of 250,000 C-level business leaders. The magazine received acclaim from The Wall Street Journal, Business 2.0 and Fortune for making learning a hot topic among executives.

• Led all education for PeopleSoft worldwide, generating $76M from sales of education products and services. Hired to integrate technology and learning, I grew the division into the 4th most profitable learning.
• Launched PeopleSoft University, introducing the company’s first leadership development curriculum; supported 100% annual sales growth through client, business partners and employee training. These efforts increased.
• Managed 255-person, 14-country organization to on-time, under-budget performance.
• Envisioned and launched PeopleSoft Press, extending brand awareness into the retail book market. Responsible for contracts, content and operations.
• Created the design strategy, user experience and learnability for the PeopleSoft Business Network (PSBN) and R&D project code-named Disruptive.com, innovating next-generation enterprise software and online service.

• Wave Technologies International was purchased by Thomson Learning and became Wave Thomson Learning, now Thomson Reuters.
• Led Wave Technologies’ employee trainer training, organizational development and learning strategy across eight offices and three countries.
• Developed IBM’s first global Internet education initiative and taught Sony and GTE executives through Wave's education outsourcing program.
• Wrote business plan and pitched to investors for Wave’s 1995 IPO.
• Wrote Learning: The Critical Technology, a whitepaper on adult education in the information age.

• Developed Microsoft’s very first new employee training program, accelerating employee readiness from 6-months to 6-weeks for the release of MS-DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0, then Windows 3.1.
• Established a fundamental support training organization delivering classes to thousands of employees that allowed the product support division to grow from fewer than 400 people 3800 in under 9 months.

My first formal job began in the human resources department researching, designing and writing education programs, special proposals and HR publications distributed to the company’s 1700 employees. This lead to work developing publications throughout the organization, teaching people how to use personal computers, and eventually having IS responsibilities.
