Simple Shoes was an iconic brand from the '90s that was shuttered in 2011 and resurrected in 2015. I joined the team in Jan 2018 with ownership of Simple's ecommerce growth strategy and execution. In addition to my traditional financial roles, I functioned as Brand Manager, having responsibility for the website (front-end and back-end), marketing, merchandising, inventory planning, technology, analytics, and customer service. Working closely with the product team, I led the migration from Big Commerce to Shopify, the conversion from MailChimp to Klaviyo, the implementation of Facebook Advertising with 4x return, and a 40% growth of the customer base. The work we did to grow the brand resulted in a successful multi-million dollar exit in July, 2020.

With focus on the newly acquired brand, Coast Apparel, my charter was to establish financial reporting processes, implement product life cycle and inventory management software, integrate revenue, inventory and accounting systems - Shopify, Stitch, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics AX and TM1 - create financial and executive management reporting packages, implement planning, budgeting and forecasting systems, and ensure all of these systems are functioning properly and accurate reporting occurs within the larger corporate ERP systems.
