The company’s affordable pre-pregnancy test utilizes an advanced DNA sequencing technology to screen for multiple genetic disorders, including all disorders currently recommended by theAmerican Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG). We have a CLIA and CAP certified clinical laboratory. Responsible for architecture of highly-scalable, extensible, custom clinical laboratory information system (LIS) and Variant Database schema for annotation of pathogenic variants for our patient reports; hired and supervised engineering, QA, and support team to design and implement using Groovy/Grails; delivered on-target, on-time for April 2012 and Sept 2012 product launches.

Supervise all aspects of software development for medical imaging company product line; team included research and development functions. Extensively utilized an agile development process to partner with product managers for product specification and development.

Responsible for informatics (software development) and architecture for the Program in Medical & Population Genetics for the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard. Team supplied highly-scalable informatics software to manage all aspects of disease association and cancer studies. Largest awarded grant was $25M over 4 years from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) a division of the NIH. For this NHLBI project, we brought together clinical data/phenotypes for 50,000 - 60,000 patients in eleven cohort studies, including the Framingham Heart Study. These phenotypes were harmonized and the patient samples were genotyped using Affymetrix's 6.0 (1 Million SNP chip) product and the Illumina Infinium iSelect product.

Responsible for overall product architecture for software suite that included trading, portfolio management, portfolio performance applications. Led 135 person team that included product designers, developers, QA, and support.

Responsible for architecture and design of large customer interaction tracking system for Fidelity Investments. System included highly-scalable OLTP (speced at 200 tps) components plus real time data mining to support cross-selling and up-selling. System was basis for very broad CRM patent granted in January 2000 (US# 6014647).

Responsible for architecture of a large (40+ interlocking module) open systems/object-oriented software product, Protean. Product handled all aspects of process manufacturing, including inventory, production design, scheduling, planning, financials interfaces. etc.

Chief architect for the Excelerator CASE product at Intersolv, a company created by Sage Software’s acquisition of Index Technology in March of 1991. Was an Index Technology employee for six years prior to the acquisition by Sage, was also director of software engineering at Index Technology. Member of four person transition team for acquisition.

Designed and implemented breakthrough color graphics workstation for real time process control that included a windowing operating system delivered 1.5 years before Microsoft Windows 1.0 was released.

Architected and developed the national Emergency Transportation System as a contractor to the Volpe Transportation Systems Center. Also worked on graphical design interface for HOS’s CASE tool.

Wrote software for real time data acquisition applications in the gyroscope and accelerometer test laboratory.
