About Marcie Ackerman
Overseeing a team of Community Development Planners, you have to have a keen eye for detail, deadlines and tracking. I take great pride in providing the best possible service to the 14 counties I serve. Whether the grant I am administering be CDBGs, ARCs, FEMA or whatever the funding organization is, the key to grant writing is in the details. At the Upper Cumberland Development District, we assist local communities with plans for projects ranging from infrastructure to parks and recreation to industrial development and areas in between. As Assistant Director of our department, I am happy to help educate and lead all members of our team to succeed like never before. Prior to joining the Planning and Community Development Team I worked in Housing where I was the Project Manager for multiple housing complexes - HUD Sections 202 and 811 as well as low-income and migrant farm laborers. Formerly I had experience in Healthcare Information Technology experience including: Meaningful Use, MIPS, HIPAA Compliance, CMS Data Reporting, User Training and Project Management. Pulling physician stats on various functions to ensure all numbers are met and codes are used correctly. Analyze patient data to assure expectations are exceeded. Figure monthly physician points for hospital, office and outreach visits. Figure charges, adjustments, and other provider numbers on a monthly basis for providers, CEO and other executive personnel. OSHA compliance officer ensuring all personnel is up to date on compliance issues, federally-mandated training and all equipment is in proper working order.Credentialing for the practice's physicians ensuring they are up to multi-state standards. Acquiring pre-certifications from Veterans Administration, BCBS and other insurance companies for various patient tests.Primary contact for local Walk With A Doc chapter.
