I am a part time community Health Educator for a local health department. In addition, I am a consultant to four other local health departments as their contractual health educator. Balancing the demands of multiple health departments has been an opportunity to hone my time management and prioritization skills. As a result, I work independently with a minimum of direct supervision on tasks that require creativity and self-motivation.The scope of my duties include educational, clinical and administrative responsibilities: developing and implementing community education and professional in-service programs; designing educational materials including public and employee newsletters, resource brochures, program curriculum, and public relations/promotion materials; coordinate all aspects of screening and immunization clinics; provide occupational training under PEOSH standard; design and implement pandemic (H1N1) influenza preparedness materials and programs.
