In 2018 I started a career shift to the academy. I got my PhD and after 2.5 years as postdoctoral fellowship, I assumed a full-time position as professor at University of Campinas (Unicamp). My research interests are applying Machine Learning and Big Data to identify how humankind affects the environment. I am also interested in applying these techniques to telecommunications systems. I have an extensive background as a consultant leading innovation and mission-critical projects in multinationals and startups, mainly in Mobile Internet and Internet of Things (IoT) areas. I am a passionate lecturer and teacher. I have experience managing multidisciplinary teams and implementing complex systems with internal and external stakeholders and partners in Brazil, Latin America and Asia. Some key projects/positions: Lead Architect for implementing 4G data network and establishing "service packaging" operations in Mexico. Coordination and creation of a laboratory and demo center of IoT at Ericsson Innovation Center.
