I managed and supported the program improvements for Cargo and General Liability claims, as well as lead the Global Risk Management & Claims Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion team and program.

I managed and supported projects for liability teams as part of the Project Management Office (PMO) of Amazon's Risk Management. I have also been DEI Team Lead since January 2021.

I investigated, evaluated, and managed auto liability claims across Amazon’s gig economy network, both domestically and worldwide. In this position, I worked within the Risk Management department to develop, improve, and streamline global processes and procedures for the reporting and administration of claims to scale with Amazon’s growth while pushing vendor partners to develop new, innovative claims solutions.

I helped place associates in non-profit organizations while they heal from their workplace injury. I work closely with Workers’ Compensation Managers and communicate with various teams across different functions and vendors, starting from when the associate gets referred to A3P and through to the end of their respective assignments.

While at a sortation center, I ensured that all safety and compliance initiatives are implemented and met per federal, state, local, and company-wide requirements. This included communicating and maintaining various data and metrics across various teams as well as training and mentoring managers, contractors, and associates in specific environment, health, and safety procedure or modules. Additionally, I looked for proactive ways to prevent associates from becoming injured, which included area inspections, new hire visits, creative signage, heightened communication with management, and a high level of associate engagement. I also performed root cause investigations for any incidents that may occur on site, such as first aid events, trailer dock events, and yard vehicle incidents. I have also traveled to other sites within the network to assist in peer review audit preparation and site launch activates.

I was the focal point for ensuring the site follows all compliance in environmental, health, and safety, as well as certifying that no violations occur during operations. This role also included assisting on local, state, and federal inspections, coordinating maintenance activities, monitoring compliance, writing procedures, facilitating safety programs and meetings, training associates, incident investigating, performing ergonomic assessments, managing the site security program, providing assistance for any IT initiatives, and other related responsibilities. Compliance and permit adherence at the site includes SARA reporting, wastewater monitoring, storm water monitoring, RCRA hazardous waste management, Chemical Weapons Convention declaring, and fire protection system maintaining. I was the 5S Housekeeping Implementation Coordinator for Huntsman Textile Effects site in North and South America. Additionally, I was the editor for the site’s monthly newsletter, create videos for training and orientation, and network with local authorities (Fire Department, Police Department, Emergency Management, etc.) as needed for maintaining business continuity. While in this role, I am also a member of the NCDOL Carolina Star Voluntary Protection Program, and the Mecklenburg County All Hazards Advisory Committee. I also managed safety and compliance for remote sites in Dalton, GA, and Exton, PA.

I started in the company as a Customer Service Representative. My role was answering calls by customers for thirty different companies/clients during the overnight hours. Calls varied from placing orders and tracking deliveries to submitting reship requests and credit reimbursements. I maintained 100% adherence and quality scores, and composed data charts to demonstrate trending of my weekly results. Due to my skills with compiling data and producing charts, I entered the position of Data Reporting Analyst after just eight months. Using numerous databases and software, I build and deliver over 300 sales and service reports a week to over 75 major companies. (I cannot list any companies here due to confidentiality agreements.) I also build reports for operational managers and supervisors to coach their agents on the sales floor towards improving call time, quality, email handle time, and other call center contact behaviors. In addition to building reports, I maintain our SharePoint site, assist others with analyzing data, work on special projects, vet data against new systems, and create new temporary and/or permanent reports as needed.

I began my career at Dow Chemical as a contractor under Kelly Scientific Resources. My first position was as Environmental, Health & Safety Contractor. I managed the proper disposal of RCRA-defined hazardous waste in R&D laboratories and performing routine safety inspections. I later became a lab technician doing catalysis research. Less than five years later, I was hired full-time as a Dow Chemical employee working in another laboratory performing extrusion experiments. While in that position, I was tasked with creating a behavioral based safety program for my facility of 100 employees, to include a reward and recognition program. The success of this program led me to become a Six Sigma Black Belt. I spearheaded three Black Belt projects and mentored numerous Green Belts for the duration of my time at Dow Chemical. Because of my passion of employee safety, I returned to the EH&S field, overseeing R&D, manufacturing, and administrative facilities. I carried out management of change for safety and compliance initiatives, assisted with external audits, and led root cause investigations for employee accidents and building incidents. My last position at Dow Chemical was as People Systems Advisor/Work Process Leader. In this role, I was responsible for sixty employees and their managers for proper work process planning, goal and mission drafting, employee interviewing and terminating, and overall team composition.
