Reporting to Pacer International’s Board of Directors Audit Committee, led a cross-functional team of internal auditors and IT compliance analysts in the execution of compliance and operational audits and the management and execution of corporation’s SOX §404 testing and remediation efforts. • Established Pacer’s internal audit team. Successfully maximized external auditor’s reliance on Internal Audit for SOX testing purposes, which reduced audit fees by 46%. • Designed and implemented company’s annual enterprise risk assessment process • Led full-cycle functional and ITGC SOX testing based on COSO/COBIT frameworks including evaluation and determination of material accounts, locations, and entities; design of SOX control matrix identifying key control objectives, key internal controls, and any control gaps; determination of testing methodologies and sample sizes; process walk-throughs and development of test plans; and documentation of testing results to confirm operating effectiveness and remediation plans for any control failures.• Led evaluation of stock option award practices, executive officer expense reviews, post-implementation system reviews, SAS70 and SLA compliance reviews, system access control reviews, operations of European subsidiaries, and various operational audits.

The client subsequently adopted the documentation methodology and style as its corporate standard. • Served as project manager for replacement of client’s financial systems with Oracle Financials 11i. Analyzed financial processes, developed systems requirements, oversaw the “Request for Proposal” and vendor selection process, and served as liaison with system integrator during implementation phase. • Developed system requirements for automation of a transportation company’s container and chassis repair authorization and accounts payable process. • Designed draft work processes and economic feasibility analysis for a proposed WMD detection/inspection facility for the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. • Redesigned and standardized client’s systems access security policies and processes to ensure segregation of duties, consistent provisioning practices, and periodic management reviews of access.
