With 25 years of experience as a healthcare provider, it should be no surprise that Marc Meyer has made it his mission to serve healthcare providers in his practice as an attorney. Marc holds a B.S. in biology from Cornell University; a M.S. in biochemistry from Texas A&M University, an A.S. in nursing from Regents (Excelsior) College, and a J.D. from the South Texas College of Law. Marc was also a paramedic/firefighter and EMS supervisor for the City of Houston Fire Department, retiring in 2011. In addition to licensure as an attorney, Marc is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Professionally, Marc has served the legal profession in leadership positions with TAANA, where he is currently on the Board of Directors and serves as the Treasurer; with the ABA Health Law Section in numerous positions, including as the founding chair of the Nursing and Allied Healthcare Issues Task Force, and is the incoming editor of ABA Health Law’s HLBytes weekly newsletter; and with the Houston Bar Association Health Law Section, where he has served 2 years on the Board of Directors and was just elevated to the position of Secretary. Marc has received two honors from TAANA – in 2010, he was named the Outstanding Student/Post-Graduate Member, and in 2013, he received the Outstanding Advocate award. Finally, Marc is Board Certified in Administrative Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.Firm Focus: Healthcare law (with an emphasis on nursing law, pre-hospital EMS law, healthcare license defense and compliance issues), and Business Formation and Planning (with an emphasis on healthcare entities).
