In 2012, Marc Munfa graduated from Harvard Business School with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). While enrolled, Marc Munfa participated in the institution's venture capital/private equity, turnaround, investment, and Africa business clubs. Also, he served as the Social Chair of his section. Currently, Marc Munfa is Vice President at JMI Equity, focusing on investments in technology, software, and business services. While acquiring his advanced degree, Marc Munfa worked as a Summer Associate with Zelnick Media/ZM Capital in New York City. In this position, Munfa recommended possible investments in weather data services, outsourced library services, music metadata, and other fields. During a $165 million leveraged buyout of a health care consultancy, he performed due diligence, financial modeling, transaction structuring, and financing. Before enrolling in business school, Marc Munfa spent the first part of his career with the Morgan Stanley family of companies. Originally an Analyst in the Investment Banking and Investment Management Divisions of Morgan Stanley Real Estate, Munfa received experience in investing private equity capital into real estate properties and in providing portfolio guidance to the firm's real estate clients. Throughout this period, he played roles in deals upwards to hundreds of millions of dollars, such as with Morgan Stanley's Prime Property Fund's purchase of 2 Park Avenue for nearly $500 million. Subsequently, Marc Munfa became an Associate in the Investment Management Division of Morgan Stanley Private Equity. Involved with the $1.5 billion private equity fund, he assisted with due diligence, exit strategy, management evaluations, and negotiations. For ABC Learning, Inc.’s, $650 million leveraged buyout of Learning Care Group (LCG), Munfa interacted with LCG’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, completed a $200 million private high yield financing, and advised on corporate restructuring.
