Both Telkom and ESKOM were new name accounts in the division and important breakthroughs at the time in terms of accounts and new product sales.

I reported to the Regional Engineer and was mainly involved with irrigation and water supply for farmers in the Western Cape. I was also involved with GIS, sensing equipment and database designs. I registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng) before leaving.

I reported to the Inspector General (SAN) and had four Productivity Improvement Process Training Officers that reported to me. My work involved the training of and consulting in all aspects of productivity improvement. I received a Chief of the Navy Commendation for the impact of the work.
