Avaya is a leading global provider of next-generation business collaboration and communications solutions, providing unified communications, real-time video collaboration, contact center, networking and related services to companies of all sizes around the world. As a Supply Chain Management Consultant for Avaya, I helped to develop logistics solutions that improved Avaya's processes for shipping goods from Avaya's Asian manufacturers to Avaya's global and North American distribution centers. This project lowered Avaya's freight costs and led to a reduction in warehouse costs, a reduction in inventory investment across the entire Supply Chain, and an overall improvement in on-time delivery.

The Planning Department is responsible for developing the production schedule and for ensuring the availability of raw materials and components at this passenger tire production facility.To better understand the plant's semi-finished material usage variances, I developed a Material Usage Variance Analysis Tool that illustrates the largest contributors to material usage variance and allows for quick analysis of monthly trends. As a direct result of focused efforts based on this analysis tool, the plant was credited $449,139 by a supplier and within one month of implementation of this tool the plant's month-to-month material usage variance improved by $628,010. This tool is currently being implemented at multiple plants. Through close collaboration with Supplier and Customer Semi-finished Material Planners, I streamlined daily reporting of semi-finished material variances by developing a standardized operating procedure shared among Customer plants. This procedure eliminated nearly 45 minutes per day of non-value added work by the Customer Semi-Finished Material Planner. To improve visibility of in-transit semi-finished inventory, I collaborated with Supplier and Customer management and floor operators to develop an In-Transit Tracking Tool that tracks the duration at each phase of the Supplier/Customer logistics network. The built-in analysis of this tool permits Michelin logistics teams to quickly pinpoint where delays occur and to take concrete steps to minimize these delays.

Conitex Sonoco is the world leader in the production of textile carriers for the spun yarn industry, and offers full packaging and handling solutions for spinning mills around the world.As a Marketing Consultant, I thoroughly analyzed the domestic thermoplastics industry to determine how Conitex Sonoco could increase its market presence within the industry. Working with a team of consultants, we developed a unique value proposition for Conitex Sonoco and devised a multipronged go-to-market strategy.

Michelin's Supply Chain and Logistics Performance department is the central body responsible for developing and implementing Michelin's Supply Chain and Logistics best practices.During this 7-month Supply Chain internship, I served as the Project Manager for the development and design of an e-training program that will be implemented globally to train employees on the processes of Michelin’s Supply Chain. As the Project Manager, I designed a storyboard, created characters and dialogue, and worked with a team of graphic designers to conceive the animations. During the development of this e-training program, I collaborated with multiple business entities to ensure the successful communication of such topics as Sales and Operations Planning, Master Scheduling, Distribution Planning, Demand Management, and Inventory Management.The internship was entirely in French.

The Quality Assurance Department's primary functions were to ensure high-quality and consistent deliverables to the customer base (Procter & Gamble and L'Oreal, among others), and to continually implement lean business systems throughout the plant.During my two years in SGS’s Quality Assurance department, I developed, implemented, and maintained process-driven lean systems. The success of our plant's lean operations encouraged senior management to streamline our processes to plants around the United States. To increase the efficiency of our plant's training procedures, I implemented a Microsoft SharePoint intranet site that improved communication and nearly eliminated paper costs. This SharePoint site served as a model for multiple plants within the company. While at SGS, management provided me the leadership roles of Proofreader Trainer, Procter & Gamble Regulatory Specialist, and Plant Trainer.
