2002 - 2008BackgroundI graduated from Falmouth College of Art with a 2:1 in Fine Art in 2002 and embarked on creating a design studio along with 2friends. Unit 4 Creative was an agency that secured work with companies such as Samsung & The Tate. We specialized in pointof sale and signage for the hospitality industry.In 2006 an underperforming bar in St.Ives (The Queens Hotel) was up for tenancy through St.Austell Brewery. My partner in Unit4 Creative and I took a leap of faith into the drinks industry and became Landlords. We managed to continue the work of thedesign agency whilst running the bar but soon realized that the two were a di cult mix. The bar increased in trade year on yearfor the rst three years after much hard work and marketing.2010 was the year that we began producing Enjoy St.Ives Magazine. A 100 page glossy A4 magazine produced in a run of 30,000and circulated around the South West. We sold advertising space along with advertorials for businesses wanting pro les ratherthan straight forward ads. The magazine was a success and return rates of advertising for the following years was in the regionof 95%. An estimated readership of over 100,000 made it the largest commercial guide book in the Southwest.St.Ives Brewery was an Idea that was formed in 2010 and was the reason for leaving the On trade behind. After the sale of theQueens Hotel in January 2011 I went on alone to produce Boilers Golden Cornish Ale which is currently contract brewed byKeltek Brewery in Redruth. Without having to focus on production I have plenty of time to market and sell.St.Ives Cider began in early 2012. Along with a partner who is in charge of production and distribution we converted anindustrial unit to suit our needs and produced our rst ciders in May of this year.
