I have always had a passion for numbers. I dreamed of going beyond human limits and developing smart ‘machines’ to promote knowledge and improve social well-being. So drones were just a logical progression. It all started at school, where an exceptional teacher passed on to me her own love for numbers. Later that turned into an interest in science. Just for the fun of it, my mum had set up a what she called a “Thinker’s Corner” in my bedroom. Wearing my scientist’s white coat, I would sit there and wonder how things worked. I longed to find solutions that would make people’s lives better. Among my first original inventions I recall the rheostat and a video game written in TI Extended Basic about a skier, which I actually managed to sell in a few toy shops.Once I got older, I turned my attention to robots and artificial intelligence. That was what set me on the path to Aerospace Engineering. Engineers are the creators of the future and I wanted to become one of them.Ever since I got my degree, I have not stopped. In over two decades of career in Aerospace Planning and Operations, I have held several key positions (VP and President) in multinational groups and set up businesses myself, such as U.T.R.I., a company specialized in unmanned aerial systems. Today I am the CEO of Dronus, my latest brainchild, and I intend to revolutionize the world of industrial drones with the patented fully autonomous NEST®250 system. And I am not going to stop.
