I was involved in designing patient-specific orthopedic devices to aid surgeons in prosthesis positioning, using CAD and medical image processing software for tasks from image segmentation to 3D printing custom guides. Direct interaction with surgeons enhanced my technical and relational skills in an international setting. As the first to start this project, after training in Zurich, I was assigned a team of 5 people, whom I trained and led for over 2 years. This role provided insight into key production processes, valuable experience in osteotomies, and helped me develop leadership skills.

I spent three months gaining international experience at an innovative center composed of engineers and surgeons. During this period, I learned essential concepts related to bone deformities and corrective osteotomies. Additionally, I focused on 3D planning and patient-specific instrumentation tailored for complex orthopedic surgeries. This comprehensive training provided me with a deep understanding of advanced techniques and technologies used to address and treat intricate skeletal issues, ultimately enhancing my skills in the field of orthopedic surgery.
