I work within a global group, to migrate plants from Mod control to an ABB 800xa system. Within this project I write software for several plants located all over the world. Per plant a team is assembled to write the software. As a member of such a team I write code, test it, and eventually implement it in the Plant.Writing the new ABB code is done based on the old MOD code, P&ID's and process knowledge. When the software is finished, At first it is tested by myself, later on the complete software package is tested. During a planned turnaround the code is implemented. During startup I give support in shifts, and I help fixing issues in the code. I worked on multiple projects in the Netherlands, and one project in China.

From december 2014 till may 2015 I work as an intern at Styron LLC. During this period I'm working on a feasability study for the implementation of a heat pump in one of their plants. My activities during this internship consist of:- Doing desk research into heat pump techniques- Modelling the current situation and the situation in which the heat pump has been implemented using Aspen.- Calculating the savings and the investment required to implement the heat pump.

For three weeks I worked as an assistant teacher for the HZ university of applied sciences at the Shanghai Maritime University. The subject I helped to teach was electro mechanics and covered the subjects: Transformers and three phase systems. During the afternoons the teacher left the classroom to prepare for the next day. Together with another assistent I prepared assignments for the students to familiarize them with the subjects. During these afternoons we helped them where needed to make these assignments.

In the third year of the study Energy- and Procestechnology at the University of Applied Sciences in Vlissingen an internship of half a year takes place. In this case the Styron, a manufacturer of plastics, rubber and latex hired me as an intern to research an energy saving for them. I made a model of energy flows in the current situation and a model of the situation in which the solution had been implemented. I calculated the savings using these models. After this I made an estimate of the investment that the implementation required and calculated the pay-back time. With this I convinced them the project was feasible and they implemented the change half a year later.
