The project includes the following: - Develop a detailed process of fabricating biochar from biological resources. - Characterize the organic biochar precursors through microscopic analysis. - Characterize the produced biochar through microscopic and spectroscopic approaches to understand its physical and chemical properties. - Develop a map of the possible biochar products that can be derived from the natural resource, following a defined experimental methodology. - Develop a process to incorporate bio-derived biochar into biopolymer matrices. - Assess the compatibility of biopolymer resins and bio-derived biochar and verify its feasibility for compostable plastic bag production. - Evaluate the mechanical properties of composite test samples (i.e., tensile strength, modulus, and ductility). - Evaluate water absorption and permeability of composite test samples. - Determine the optimal loading level of select biochar products in a biopolymer matrix, for achieving the desired mechanical properties, water absorption, and permeability.

Project roles with the Bruce B Station Refresh Project Included the following: - Developed initial scope documents for upgrades in work areas to be upgraded - Participated in interactive planning sessions for yearly forecast of 2023 - Chaired walkdowns for various scopes of work as PM delegate to identify required upgrades as a part of scope definition phase. - Coordinated initial scope definition meeting for project team on SEP 2022 - Interacted with Electrical Design Engineering for creation and installation of Engineering Change packages based on defined scopes. - Participated in readiness meeting for the Bruce B Gaurdhouse in order to ensure all requirements for installation are complete - Organized Operational Focus Alignment Meeting presentations which communicated project status updates to station management and operations. - Coordinated the procurement of refresh materials based on client (Bruce Reactor Inspection and Maintenance System) needs

• Collaborated in a multidisciplinary team of 10+ engineers and non-engineers by specifying the schedule of the manufacturing of different parts of a propulsion mechanism to build a pod for a regional competition.• This resulted in obtaining a professional schedule and cost analysis of the manufacturing phase for the entire Hyperloop propulsion team.

Responsibilities of the intern included: - Learning about Carnot refrigeration cycle, open/closed loops, chillers, crossflow/counter-flow cooling towers, series/parallel pumps, laminar/turbulent flow, Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Air Handling Units (AHUs), Heat Exchange, Heat Recovery Units (HRU), ventilation/exhaust/supply ducts (Galvanized Iron), two-way valves, double regulating valves, butterfly valves, and chilled water pumps. - Interacting with workers and solving problems on-site was a huge part of the internship as visiting the site and seeing new problems and solving them was of paramount importance. - Writing and translating letters and memos to sub-contractors as well as suppliers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities of the intern included going through a beginner and an intermediate course of ANSYS APDL. This course included a deep knowledge of FEM as well as the variety of tools and codes that are used to run Mechanical ANSYS APDL. These included the use of solid, beam, and shell type elements in a variety of different analyses. These analyses included harmonic, buckling, and negative buckling analyses. Also tutorials included importing complex 3-D structures as well as using different mass-spring models.In addition conducted two projects which were: - Debugging a code that identified hexagons in 3-d shapes and constructing areas on them - Looping through more than a 100 dimensions of sorted beams in a cantilever problem and identifying the one that will best withstand von mises stress
