Established a strong data privacy governance at a global level, including a robust data privacy management system to demonstrate compliance. After the implementation of the EU GDPR I moved to the APAC region to further support our banks in APAC on APAC data privacy matters, due to increasing data privacy regulation in APAC.I strongly believe that data privacy should be easy - not a hassle!To be successful as a business, you need to do more than just comply with data privacy laws. It is essential to create a strong data privacy governance, that understands the players on the field (e.g. business, management, IT, risk, compliance, legal, HR). By addressing their needs, data privacy can be an enabler, not the other way around. To be successful as individuals, data privacy professionals should be hungry for knowledge that goes beyond just data privacy. Data privacy is one of those topics where one can constantly strive to acquire new skills that will benefit the organization. I love the challenge and am constantly expanding my knowledge in areas that are affected by data privacy (e.g. IT, security, data science, new technologies, basic coding, data ethics), which allows for a more solution oriented approach towards different stakeholders.The fascination to learn new skills (without thinking too much about boundaries) goes beyond data privacy: I'm passionate about Asian culture. A basic conversation in Mandarin is possible, and I'm keen to improve even further.
