The trainee programme focused on providing leadership and analytical qualifications while working for the leading postal operator in Europe. I received several trainings encompassing consulting skills, fundamentals for continuous improvement and controlling practices. This was accompanied by deputizing operations managers in Bremen and Berlin (ZSPL) and working in the controlling department.

Adopting an own customer portfolio from the beginning, I took care of all sorts of ocean import shipments including coordination with intermodal teams, customs and global business units. I was also in charge for invoicing and GP controlling. It was a great and challenging experience to work in an international team with day-to-day changing demands.

During my apprenticeship I was able to gain insights into different fields of logistics. This included project cargo, ocean import and export as well as time-sensitive airfreight and NCL shipments. I also gained experience in customs procedures and tender management. Overall Panalpina strengthened my attitude of solution-based thinking.
