A challenge that drives me since I read "The Connected Company" by Dave Gray some years back.Two and a half years ago we started Bosch CS - the Bosch division for Connected Mobility Solutions to shape a new era of mobility. It took a while until it was broadly internalized that sustainable "connected mobility business" is more than "connecting vehicles". It is about solving customers' and users' needs by providing the adequate services; It is about subscription business - not selling pieces (let it be hardware or software), it is about identifying where to go for platform business - and where not. And it is about transforming an entire organization regarding its purpose, its business model and its way of operation. So in the end it is about leadership, appreciation, cooperation, communication - in the end it is about people and attitude! I enjoy both developing the initial strategy for the new division CS and shaping the strategy of Bosch mobility as a whole to meet these challenges. And to successfully position Bosch as a recognized player in this field.Conveying that there is no old-or-new, no bad-or-good, no wrong or right - but a constant joint exploration following a guiding True North. Most I enjoy leading and supporting the people in this transformation.

    Bosch Software Innovations was THE IoT Incubator at Bosch. So we simply had to shape a business domain that did not exist before. And by doing so derive the practices and requirements for a multi-billion Euro company to transform into an IoT company.I loved to innovate business models with great open-minded people from all domains (energy, mobility, smart home, industry 4.0). A lot of success arose from "crossing boarders" and "connecting the dots", e.g. combining practical experience from Bosch Software Innovations and academic research from Bosch IoT Lab at Uni St. Gallen. (Our IoT Business Model Builder under "publications" is a practical example).I was at the heart of the development and implementation of Bosch's IoT strategy by operating the Bosch IoT Empowerment board, including Bosch CEO Volkmar Denner, other board members and presidents of business divisions as members. In the IoT Empowerment Board we defined overarching principles to develop Bosch IoT business and for the underlying technology as well as requirements for organizational transformation.At that time we also entered the era of strategic partnerships - following the firm belief that "Nobody can do I(o)t alone". I am proud having laid the foundation for successful strategic partnering at Bosch. Extending the need of connecting and cooperating beyond individuals and units within an organization. Connected Business in a connected world requires connected organizations and connected individuals.
