Monitor the activities related with the electoral process, especially the observance of civil and political rights and report on the political developments; collaborate in the logistical aspects of the mission; co-supervise a team of administrative staff and two teams of short term election observers as well as facilitate the logistical and substantial arrangements for the deployment of the respective teams in the field, at times, in extremely difficult circumstances.

Monitor the activities related with the electoral process, especially the observance of civil and political rights and report on the political developments; co-supervise a team; collaborate on the logistical and security arrangements of the mission. The Afghanistan Mission had a Gender Officer and a substantial part of the work done in the field related to monitoring the access of women to their political and civil rights (e.g. right to vote; right to present themselves as candidates).

Follow key dossiers in the UN field, particularly related with Human Rights; draft reports, briefings, and provide background information, which included an overall report on the 61st session of the Commission on Human Rights.

Conduct research on the Human Rights Protection System in Brazil; draft interventions on the Portuguese Criminal Law system; write an overall report on the achievements of the Exchange Programme. I have also monitored court proceedings in criminal cases, and worked closely with Public Prosecutors (e.g. attended witness examination). I have studied extensively the Brazilian criminal system (e.g. witness protection scheme). This was a part-time position (50%).

Conduct a comparative study on the Consumer’s Protection Systems in Brazil and Portugal; participate on workshops, conferences and other relevant meetings related to consumer´s protection; lecture in a Conference on Consumer’s Rights. Review on-going and closed cases in order to identify best practices. I have extensively researched the consumer´s protection system in Brazil. This was a part time position (50%).
