Physician with a long successful career in management.He has two postgraduate specialties : Medical Oncology and Pharmacology.After a clinical experience at the Milan Niguarda Hospital he joined Sanofi as Medical Advisor. After one year he was promoted Medical Head of the Cardiovascular Area.Two years later he was nominated Medical Director in Recordati where he spent two years developing worldwide the Company pipeline.In 1990 he went to Upjohn as Medical Director. Here in a talent acceleration program he also experienced a 6 months assignement as Marketing Manager in Paris.After the merger between Upjohn and Pharmacia he joined Bayer as Medical Director and he rapidly was promoted to Research & Development Director managing the Medical Department, Regulatory and the Research Unit located in the S. Raffaele Science Park in Milan.In 2000 he received in Hannover the National Science Award from the Italian Republic President.From 2003 to 2008 he was Medical Director in Eli Lilly in Florence.He went back to Sanofi in 2008 managing Medical, Regulatory and Market Access Departments and he left the company at the end of 2019.The first of January 2020 he joined the IRCCS Cardiologic Centre Monzino in Milan as Director of the Clinical Trials Unit and he is today Member of the Scientific Committee of the hospital.He has been member of the Board of Assobiotec and of the Italian Society of Pharmacology for six years , Scientific Director and Partner of the international Consulting Firm LSC ( Life Science Consulting ) and Adjunct Professor of Milan State University.He is also today in the Board of the clinical section of the Italian Society of Pharmacology and in the Rotarians for Health Foundation .
