My work consists of creating technical solutions for the food and beverage industry as well as for pharmaceuticals. Working out technical solutions, preparing correct quotations, ordering the required parts and supervising the field service engineers for installation. The field service engineers can be our own personnel or subcontractors.

Field Service engineer for drug distribution systems (GDS) and dialysis machines.The work usually takes place in hospitals, pharmacies or distribution centres. Installation of new equipment, validation new equipment, FAT testing or problem solving in the field; this could be IT related, mechanically, electronically or operator mistakes. For the dialysis machine this means repair in the workshop or telephone support for home patients.

As assistant chief technical officer, I was jointly responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production machines in the laundry. All aspects of technology came together here, including power current, pneumatics, hydraulics, IT, computer technology and technical business administration.

Advising and supporting clients in the design and standardisation of their electrical controls. Installations for the theatre, chip processing, (waste) water treatment, shipbuilding, glass and horticulture, infrastructure, petrochemicals, steel, bakery, plastics and the wood industry.

In this role, I was responsible for improving the mechanical design, testing the prototype (electronic and mechanical systems) as well as maintenance and creating work descriptions for this navigation and registration system for underground pipelines.

Building, assembling and improving infrared cameras used for tracking and observation for military applications.Developing production and gluing methods of the lens system of (prototype) Helmet Mounted Displays.Giving training on the production process / building of these products.Aligning and validating assembled products.These are very fine mechanical parts which have to be assembled under conditioned circumstances.Fabrication of such equipment means (very) strict requirements regarding use of components, quality, documentation and procedures.In addition to the standard activities, I was a member of the works council, where I was primarily involved in everything to do with health and safety. I also held many discussions with colleagues regarding a reorganisation/takeover.

Work takes place in a clean room.I am enormously proud that I was able to make a major contribution to the validation of the production process for assembling SMD electronics (surface mount device) for ESA (European Space Agency). Afterwards I successfully applied this technology in SRON's HIFI project. Which actually flew into space.
