As a somatic healing therapist, my area of expertise is in developing multidisciplinary approaches to treating complex post traumatic stress disorders to facilitate overall physical health and mental emotional wellbeing.I teach individuals to navigate uncomfortable sensations and emotions, consequences of repressed traumatic memories, through gentle and subtle somatic techniques that have the capability to promote clear awareness of the self and the surrounding environment, as also a sense of safety within the present moment.My background as Exercise Physiologist in helping people suffering from chronic pain conditions, plus my ongoing research into trauma informed therapies, has allowed me to develop an evidence based understanding of the influence of traumatic memories in pain sensitivity and autonomic regulation of the nervous system, this one linked to the ability to emotionally regulate.Nowadays in my practice I offer techniques that rely on body awareness and physiological regulation to help create control over debilitating symptoms and unconscious behavioural patterns.
