Direct the research and products development efforts by our team of developers. What I enjoy in this position is the mix of scientific work, the high technology projects , and the team work to produce the best products on the market. It is motivating to look ahead and lay down the strategy to develop the next generation of leading products. All of this with the challenges of working within limited budget and resources. We have developed active front end (AFE) power converters and inverters ranging from 25kW to 2.4MW! As part of this work, I recently invented a new power rectifier that mitigates harmonics issues efficiently. As the lead scientist, I also perform basic research and develop new methods to improve both ozone and UV systems. My team also refines the power supply unit to optimize for cost and performances. Of course, this includes developing specialized components such as power transformers, inductors, IGBT inverters with their cooling systems. This requires expertise in power electronics, magnetics, plasma physic, and product design. Other applications we have evaluated included high power wireless chargers (WPT) for electric vehicle (EV), regenerative test benches, battery storage for peak shaving, and wind-solar-diesel integration. We chose to develop a power supply for large plasma torches used for material processing.Our products are IoT ready and feature advanced remote monitoring compatible with Big Data Analytic. We regularly use the remote monitoring features to support commissioning and maintenance activities on our equipment. This saves on traveling cost and reduce service delays improving the customer's experience. We are implementing on our embedded controllers, advanced troubleshooting techniques based on artificial intelligence (AI) to further improve the precision of the system's condition monitoring and diagnostics.
