Duties:• Analyse and advise on all finance related matters for any new product/ process change implementation• Closely communicate with business, management & other functions and advice on finance matters• Design & implement P&L calculation model and efficient accounting flow. Duties:• Lead the HK & China Financial Control teams and the Accounts Payable team• Review regulatory returns and capital positions of a no. of SFC licensed corporations• Establish internal controls for relevant assertions in the financial reporting framework• Participate in a no. of system projects for automating & improving current workflows• Advise on accounting, tax and trade operation matters• Handle queries from SFC, IRD, etc.Achievements:• Participated in CITIC Securities’ acquisition of CLSA, especially the spin-off of Taiwan Operation• Participated the restructuring of Finance operations to set up a number of regional functions such as regional payment center, regional accounting team and regional reconciliation team• Played key roles in various Finance related IT projects such as rolling out SAP accounting ledger, transition to SYN a new back office contracting & settlement system and implementation of HSBCnet as the core payment system. • Design & implemented automatic postings for a no. of business processes including MTM of financial instruments (Sophis), treasury transactions (FX, loans, deposits), T&E (Concur)• Repatriated funds from China, including disposal of a JV and closure of representative office• Handled the tax appeal in Taiwan and achieved a huge amount of tax savings• Handled and cleared stamp duty inspection by IRD
