Senior member of an engineering team tasked with building tools to allow DevOps to manage over 5000 bare metal systems, hypervisors, and virtual nodes across 5 global datacenters.Helped implement service and host level monitoring using a mix of Mondemand, Graphite/Grafana, and Icinga.Used a stack of Modern Perl (Moose, Catalyst, DBIx, etc.), MySQL, Javascript, and Python to stitch together various APIs for configuring bare metal nodes, switches, and load balancers via loosely coupled RESTful services.Our tooling allows internal customers to quickly provision a node, deploy it with assigned responsibilities, monitor its health, emit service level metrics, and visualize these various steps. Started as a front-end developer writing static, table-centric HTML. Then enhanced the site's functionality with multi-browser compliant Javascript in the days before frameworks such as jQuery and Scriptaculous existed to abstract away the pain of such development.Eventually I moved to working on back-end of the website writing controllers and models drawing from the site's MySQL and Oracle databases adding many new features to the site.

Managed group of 5 developers responsible for creating and maintaining the site's search and checkout cart functionality written in Perl's Template-Toolkit templating system.Also hand coded static pages to artists' strict specifications using table-centric HTML in the days before CSS was widely adopted.
