Engineer (April 2014 - Present)Assistant Engineer (January 2013 - March 2014)Role:• Advise and coordinate technical aspects of electrical power system (HV and MV) and public utilities projects.• Provide technical support for tendering and in-service equipment such as Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Gas/Oil Insulated Transformer (GIT/OIT), Power System Automation and Partial Discharge Monitoring (PDM) system.• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).• Review test method.Major achievements:• Coordinated and monitored design, installation and energization of the new protection system which complies with IEC 61850-9-2 (Process Bus), electronic current transformer (ECT) and electronic voltage transformer (VCT). Conducted an one-year trial test after energization. The system has successfully been installed and operating.• Coordinated and monitored design, installation and energization of the partial discharge monitoring (PDM) system for gas insulated transformer (GIT). The system has successfully been installed and operating.• Successfully resolved fault alarm problem of an external type PDM system for gas insulated switchgear (GIS) caused by background noise.• Successfully initialized the smart grid business (mainly smart metering and AMI system) in Hong Kong. Obtained potential customers' requirements and coordinated with the manufacturers and studied the business feasibility.
