Marco Bassini holds a degree in Law summa cum laude from Bocconi University (2010). In 2016 he received his PhD in Constitutional Law and European Law from the University of Verona. He has been a Post-Doctoral Emile Noel Fellow at the Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice - New York University (2016). From 2017 to 2021, he was a post-doctoral researcher in Constitutional Law at Bocconi University. From September 2021 to October 2022 he served as adjunct professor of Constitutional Law at Bocconi University. From November 2022 to January 2023 he has been assistant professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at Tuscia University. As of 1 February 2023, he is assistant professor of Fundamental Rights and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University.His research interests include, among others: protection of human rights in the digital age, populism and constitutional law, European constitutional law. He is among the founders and editor-in chief of the Rivista di diritto dei media (Journal of Media Law) and chief of the editorial board of the law journal Diritti Comparati. Since 2016 he has taught the following courses at Bocconi University: Public Law, Fundamentals of IT Law, Constitutional Law, Internet Law, Free Speech and Human Rights in Cyberspace Law, Digital Media and Regulation, Audiovisual and Media Services Policy and Regulation. Also, he has taught the Comparative Legal Systems course at Tuscia University since the 2020-21 academic year and the Data Access and Regulation course at the State University of Milan in the academic year 2021-22. He has been awarded with the “Vittorio Frosini” Prize for the best doctoral thesis in the field of information technology law defended in 2015-16.
