The composition, scope and positioning of the team changed, effectively creating a new team, as part of a re-organization. The different positioning allowed for a more independent approach on “Running-the-Bank” activities. The team size increased to 7 FTE.The team scope increased and the activities supported during this period were:- Data Management and Data availability- Data Extracts from the Credit Risk Data Warehouse- Data Quality on loaded data- Operational Management of the ETL processes- User acceptance testing and implementation of new functionality- Advising the project on requirements to come to a maintenance friendly platform- 2nd line support for complicated data related user questions- Service Level Management- Connecting and supporting new and or updated data deliveriesNear the end of the period I worked together with three other colleagues on a comprehensive organization change program next to the day-to-day work as team manager. I was responsible for creating a new organization design. Through a number of workshops we involved the people and together created a number of design principles from which we selected the best solution that adhered to all principles. This approach and structure has been copied since in several other organization changes.

Because of the increase in scope my activities also increased and included at the end of the period the management of 3 people (with support from my manager).
Information Management Specialist
After almost three years working as a tester I made the switch to a different role in the organization as Information Management Specialist. In this capacity I was responsible for making sure the users of the Credit Risk Data Warehouse platform could work with little to no interruptions by ensuring continued availability of the platform and data.Since this was a new role in the organization the focus was initially on setting up these key activities. Tmap Test Specialist
I joined a newly set-up team responsible for testing and validating functionality for a centralized Credit Risk Infrastructure platform in ING. When I joined the bigger team just embarked on a journey to create a consolidated Credit Risk Data Warehouse covering the entire ING portfolio from a Credit Risk perspective. My primary focus was on testing and validating in-house developed functionality for this new platform. I performed these tasks in a multidisciplinary team working together with Business Analysts and Project Managers. Activities ranged from defining test strategy, actual testing and validation of delivered functionality and assisting in implementation and rollout of approved functionality to production.Using TMAP test methodology I was mainly responsible to cover the following functionalities of the new platform:- Extraction, transformation, enrichment and load of data delivered from local parties- Calculation of (regulatory) capital and key risk drivers (Basel I/II)- Loading and storing data in the Data Warehouse for reporting purposes.During my time at the department I also created an improvement plan for the way of working with regards to testing from which parts were implemented that improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Software Engineer
I started at ING with an intensive education program working and studying at the same time gaining experience in the capacity as software engineer. During this period I have worked on several projects across ING as part of an internal consultancy department:- Traineeship with several smaller projects primarily focused on gaining experience in the COBOL programming language.- Office automation using Visual Basic for Application (MS Access) for a clean desk program in District Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland that required setting up surveys, registering survey results and follow-up of actions after surveys. Together with a colleague I created and implemented the product (including usage of the product on location to prototype and gain feedback) in short iterations together with the internal stakeholder. - Responsible, together with another colleague, for the Business Intelligence for a Payments & Cash Management department at the domestic bank. The activities ranged from creating regular and ad-hoc reports using Business Objects, migrating legacy reports created in DB2 to Business Objects and running regular reports and analysis on Business Objects and DB2. Next to that we were responsible for answering questions from users of our reports.
