My work as a librarian focuses broadly on technical services, namely the creation, organization, and maintenance of libraries and their catalogs with a view to facilitating user access and fostering a positive user experience.Conceived at once as a map and a key to a library collection, a thoughtfully crafted catalog brings out a library's resources in effective and elegant ways.As an independent scholar, my interests lie especially in the connection between books and culture. The ways in which books have been represented and used in various cultures—especially in pre-modern or traditional cultures in which a religious or symbolic worldview predominates—is a rich area of study that I am keen on making more accessible. I am currently working on some projects to help bring out the meaning of books across cultures.
