I graduated in Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Florence. My thesis work focused on the field of quantum thermodynamics, where I gained research experience and subsequently published a paper after graduation. Then, I obtained a Master's Degree in Theoretical Physics also from the University of Florence.My thesis focused on studying large fluctuations exhibited by complex systems, which make events associated with rare trajectories relevant. In particular, we modeled a dynamic system defined on a graph that may exhibit large fluctuations in the statistics of the variable of interest due to the combined effect of diffusion and inhomogeneous amplification. Diffusion is generated by underlying disorder such as chaotic motion, while amplification is due to energy pumping within the system.
